VICTORIA FALLS

Victoria Falls is one of Seven Natural Wonders of the world. And also, this is the world’s largest sheet of falling water. Every minute, over five million cubic metres of water pour over the falls. Width of this falls is 1708m and height varies from 80m - 108m. Victoria Falls is located in Southern Africa between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and this is a part of Zambezi River. While 60% of this falls’ length belongs to Zambia, 40% of falls’ length belongs to Zimbabwe.

In addition, this falls is called Mosi-oa-Tunya. Its English name “Victoria Falls” was chosen by David Livingstone after identifying the falls in 1855. This site has been an increasingly important source of tourism since the mid 20th century. Both Zambia and Zimbabwe have national parks and tourism infrastructure at the site.
