Pele, whose full name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is a legendary Brazilian football (soccer) player widely regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the sport. Born on October 23, 1940, in Brazil, he is often referred to as "The King of Football" for his extraordinary skills and achievements on the field.

Pele rose to prominence during the 1950s and 1960s, representing the Brazilian national team in four FIFA World Cup tournaments.
