During the Middle Ages, the sons of nobles began to do horse riding, horse wrestling, running competitions, weight lifting and jumping. These matches were held in both friendly and rivalries at official and unofficial stadiums. Currently, in athletics, a 400M track is used where all races can be performed, either on the field or in the indor track. Athletics were also included in the first Olympic Games held in 1896.

In 1928, women were also able to participate in these competitions, which were limited to men only. Also, there was more tendency for swimming and gym games and their competitiveness was reduced in men's matches and matches. It can be said that according to an act passed in 1972, women's participation was significantly developed in order to protect women's rights with the aim of elimination the gender discrimination that existedat the time and giving equal rights to all. This provides an insight into the history of sports and athletics. Often athletics is based on track and field, and sport goes beyond that and even uses space. And this also teaches a good lesson to human life in the development of human skills as well as competitiveness. Also, it can be said that the competitor practices basic things like patience, winning and losing and respecting others as benefits from sports and athletics. It also enables the contestant to overcome all the obstacles raised by the society. With the above facts and examples, one can get a good understanding of the two aspects of sports and athletics.
